about this item
Edwin Morgan's second main collection (after The Second Life), and the
first to be published by Carcanet Press, includes some of his best-known
poems, from the 'Glasgow Sonnets' to 'The First Men on Mercury'.
The
title of the book – not taken from any single poem, but describing
the breadth of the book's subject matter – has become emblematic
of Morgan's work; it was used as the title of a 1990 stage version of
his his poems, and inverted in From Saturn to Glasgow: Fifty Favourite
Poems by Edwin Morgan (Carcanet/SPL, 2008).
