about this item
Dear Hamish –
Thanks for splendid photograph of Englishman hit
by meteorite. You seem to be having a wild-weather time up west, though
it's been wild here too – snow yesterday. As you will see from
the enclosed, I have been making my polaroid do things it did not want
to do. 'Who is to be the master, that's
all!'
Martin Dalby is setting the L.N. Monster's Song for mezzo-soprano
and small orchestra (for Mayfest): performance by Chamber Group of
Scotland at RSAMD on 15 May, thence in Edinburgh.
Happy Easter!
Eddie
'the L.N. Monster's Song' is 'The Loch Ness Monster's Song'
in From Glasgow to Saturn (1973).
The note is written on the back of a copy of a letter from Francis Combes
of the Parisian publisher Les Temps des Cerises, informing Morgan that
his poem 'The Subway Piranhas' has been selected for a poster campaign
in the Paris métro, and enclosing a copy of the French translation
of the poem.
