about this item
The illustrated stamp album for postage stamps of the world. Imagined Lands, vol. XIV - Scotland features two stamps with texts by Edwin Morgan
and artwork by Linda Taylor.
'A Far Horn' combines images from 'The Coin'
and 'The Summons' in Sonnets from Scotland (1984), and was inspired by
John Purser's description, in Scotland's Music (1992), of the oldest
playable Scottish instrument, the Caprington Horn, discovered intact
in an Iron Age grave in Ayrshire. 'One by one' uses a line from 'Wolf',
in the 'Beasts of Scotland' sequence, later published in Virtual
and Other Realities (Carcanet, 1997).
