'The cat', 'The carp' and 'The dromedary', translated by Edwin Morgan

The poems are from Le Bestiaire ou Cortège d'Orphée (The Bestiary or Retinue of Orpheus) (1911) by the French poet Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918).

These translations, together with Morgan's version of four other poems from the sequence, were reprinted in Ian Hamilton Finlay's magazine Poor.Old.Tired.Horse., no. 11 in 1964.
