The periodical Migrant was published by the poet Gael Turnbull (1928-2004) from his then home in Ventura, California, and featured writers from both the US and UK.

This offprint features four of Edwin Morgan's Scots translations of Mayakovsky: 'Ay, but can ye?', 'The ballad o the reid cadie', 'A richt respeck fur cuddies' and 'Eupatoria'. Edwin Morgan has written corrections on pp.7-9. All four poems are included in Wi the haill voice (Carcanet, 1972), with some changes, mainly in layout.

The Edwin Morgan Archive holds Migrant no.8 (September 1960), featuring Morgan's translations of Boris Pasternak. Migrant Press also published Morgan's Sovpoems in 1961.
