Of the 23 poems in Starryveldt, nine are included in The Second Life (Edinburgh University Press, 1968), with an additional two included in Collected Poems (1990). These poems are dated 1963 and 1964. The others remain uncollected.

Eugen Gomringer (1925-) is a Bolivian-Swiss poet, critic and publisher, who writes primarily in German. Morgan has translated several of his poems.

In this item, Morgan has signed and dated the title page "23 January 1965".
